Cancer Tips

1. Most cancer patients have to gobble down lots of pills. Use Cream cheese, some pasty meat, brie cheese, or anything that will completely cover the pill that you are giving your dog is especially effective. This is especially true when using CAS options as they STINK.

2. No one formula will work for all dogs, just do what works. If you cannot get all the medicine down, do what's critical. (i.e. eliminate the vitamins that are largest in size). Remember, this is about quality of life if your doggie is having to go through hell to take pills, stop it and take him/her for a walk!

3. Let your doggie have some steak and chicken every now and then. Just do leftovers mixed in with some good food, rice, oatmeal, salmon, anything that has a powerful odor.

4. Buy a cat for your dog and let them eat it ;) - this has proven very helpful for Kuja, she gets one pound kitten a month;)

5. Make sure you dont just take your doggie to the VET in your car but take him/her somewhere else too so that the experience of getting in the car is not ruined, or always

6. Most important - Take time with your doggie. Cannot tell you how important that is as it may be your last week - depends on your type of cancer. Take some time off and go on a trip, camping whatever and really make use of the time you have together. The one thing we all need to remember is that if this were a human, a family member or something, the likelyhood that they could still remain as active as a dog going through the same thing is really very low. So be thankful.
